Dan WeinerDan WeinerEmotional Growth

Parent, Psychotherapist specializing in Family/Adolescent Therapy

Daniel Weiner, MA LPC has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford and is a licensed, board certified psychotherapist in the State of Connecticut. For the past 18 years, Daniel (“Dan”) has worked in multiple inpatient and outpatient treatment settings providing mental health care to children and adolescents. Specifically, he was the Clinical Director of Child Services at Saint Francis Care Behavioral Health in the late 1990’s, which consisted of overseeing the mental health care provided in both the inpatient and partial hospital facilities. Since leaving Saint Francis, he has focused on the development of a child, adolescent, and parent-based psychotherapy practice. While Dan was able to provide care to his clients effectively, he recognized the ever growing need for more services that not only support the child and/or adolescent, but also the parents and siblings within the family system. As a result, he co-founded and developed the Family Resource and Development Center, LLC, a group psychotherapy practice specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents and their families. The Family Resource and Development Center, LLC is an ever developing “think-tank” that is constantly evolving to provide support groups, parent management strategies, and other services to assist in the care of the whole family system.

A core belief for Dan is that all children and adolescents have an inherent desire to be happy and successful, despite their various challenges. As a result, the ultimate and overriding goal of any intervention is to provide these youngsters, as well as their family members with the insight necessary for more healthy development.

Investing in future leaders has always been my passion. While on the Board of Education, it’s clear to see how community, educators, and parents all play a critical role in helping a child attain their dreams – whatever they are.

Tyron Harris is a Board of Education Member because he believe’s that his passion and commitment to education along with his business experience allow him to bring a new effective voice to the board. Further, Tyron cares deeply about the community’s children and believe just as strongly in public education. Some time ago, Tyron remembers that he read an article that claimed that Hartford, Connecticut, was one of the worst places to raise a child.  This motivated Tyron to become actively involved.  Tyron wants members of the Board of Education to be role models, and he wants to foster more parental involvement in the education of their children and in the public schools.

Dr. Terry de Roulet, M.D.Teen Health

Parent, Family Medicine Physician

Inspired to become a physician at age twelve by the work of Dr. Kenneth Cooper, the father of aerobics, Dr. de Roulet has always been interested in preventive medicine, and the health of the whole person.

Dr. “d” first earned an M.A. in English, and spent 12 years teaching students to write persuasively.  She uses those skills daily as she works to influence others to make good health choices.  She enjoys working with parents and teens to improve communication about teens’ health concerns.  Dr. de Roulet has found it to be especially gratifying to be an advocate for those who traditionally have not had access to good health care. As a partner with Kaiser Permanente, she works with other departments to research how diet and exercise may help to improve severe medical conditions.  She also prays for her patients, which she believes is an important part of their care. Having raised three boys and lived to tell about it, she understands the need for teens and their parents to be good partners in speaking about and successfully addressing health concerns, rather than silent, or not-so-silent, adversaries.

Dr. de Roulet has been practicing medicine since 2007.  She is a graduate of Rush Medical College, Chicago, Illinois, and lives in southern California.
